Epitex's quest is to develop opto-devices necessary for applications such as transport and automobile management systems (ITS, VICS, ETS, etc), medical and treatment, agriculture and food, and security. Epitex is also willing to help customers develop their own products by designing and manufacturing appropriate custom opto-devices for many other applications.

Original LED used in VICS/ITS

Our L840-01KS-B and L840-04KS-B have been succeeded in a national project of VICS/ITS to design and evaluate a module of LEDs which performs as a light beacon set on the traffic lightpost to emit a light of 840nm toward the passing vehicle. Features as requested in these devices are as the followings;

1)High Power of more than 17mW at If=50mA

2)Long life of more than 15 years when used in the actual field.

3)L840-01KS-B with a half viewing angle of ±10 degrees is focused around at the center of light spot and

L840-04KS-B with a half angle of ±20 degrees is focused on the fringe of light spot. Both of them are set up together.

Bi-color LED for biometrics signatures

Iris identification system also is one from of Biometrics signatures and consists of a standard video camera and a central unit for image processing to verify the identity. Our bi-color LED of L760/850-04 is designed to de incorporated into the above system for a light source. Using a standard video camera, a photographic image of a human iris is automatically obtained through Iris Identification system and is processed to be digitally encoded into iris code and stored in its file for future reference to help ensure only authorized access to the computer-based system. the iris that is the pigmented, round, contractile membrane of the human eye can be used for personal identification because every person has a unique pattern which is both eternally visible and stable throughout a human lifetime. This allows an iris to serve as the basis for a fast and virtually proof method of automatic personal identification and improve the level of security which has been offered through currently available means of verification such as PIN numbers, password and ID cards
